Getting to Stanford:

Getting to the Conference:

The conference will be held in 2 locations on the west side of campus in the Medical Center:

  • Sunday, 23 July: The first day of Tutorials/Workshop will be held at the James H Clark Center , located at 318 CAMPUS DR between Roth Way and Via Ortega . Check-in is between 8:00 and 9:00 AM in the Auditorium, located below the central courtyard formed by the 3 interconnected buildings of this center.
  • Monday - Wednesday, 24 - 26 July: The remainder of the conference will take place in the Sherman Fairchild Auditorium, 291 CAMPUS DR, between Via Ortega and Panama St. Those not attending the first day on Sunday should check-in at the registration table between8:00 and 9:00 AM located in the auditorium lobby

Maps showing both venues:

By Car:

Sunday, 23 July: You will be able to park in the large lot immediately adjacent to the Clark Center. Since it is a Sunday, you will NOT need a parking permit.

Monday - Wednesday, 24 - 26 July: On these days you will not be able to park in the same lot as on Sunday; instead you will need to park in the nearby designated event parking structure called the Stock Farm Parking Structure. You will need a daily scratcher pink parking permit to hang from your rear view mirror on each of these days. You can pick these up upon registration on Sunday.

By Campus/Hotel Shuttles:

Many nearby hotels offer complimentary shuttle service to and from campus; inquire upon check in to your hotel for details.

The Marguerite: The University operates a free shuttle service that runs to most places on campus including our conference venue and several nearby places of lodging (SLAC Guest House, Sheraton/Westin, Stanford Terrace Inn) as well as the University and California Ave downtown areas. Look for the red and white buses.

N ote: on Sunday this shuttle normally does not operate. We have chartered a special charter bus to take attendees staying at the SLAC Guest House and the Sheraton/Westin to and from the conference venue using the following schedule:

Morning: Pick up in front of the Sheration at 7:20 am and then SLAC at 7:40 am to arrive at the Clark Center at 8:00 am.

Afternoon: Pick up at Clark Center at 5:45 pm to arrive at SLAC at 6:05 pm and then at the Sheraton at 6:25 pm

There is no advance reservation necessary, and this service is free of charge. Out of consideration of your fellow attendees and to ensure that you do not miss the shuttle, please be on time!

By Public Transportation:

Buses run along the El Camino Real (82) to the Palo Alto Transit Center. From there you can catch the Marguerite to get to the conference. Click here for Schedule Information

While You Are Here :

There will be an optional conference banquet on Tuesday evening (note this event has an additional $50 charge); browse here to sign up. For dinner suggestions browse here.

Upon registration you will receive instructions for accessing the Stanford wireless access in order to gain internet access in both conference venues as well as many other locations on campus. Click here to see a map of wireless locations around campus. If you experience difficulty connecting to the Stanford wireless network, please seek assistance at the registration desk. Due to security concerns wired/LAN access is severely limited and available only upon request to those presenting a Sunday tutorial or workshop.
