Installation of Prerequisite Software

This section describes the basic technologies needed to install the plugin and the procedure to install them. For further documentation, consult the the software's respective documentation.

The Protégé plugin uses an RDF(s) database called Sesame. To access the full potential of Sesame, however, requires the installation of many other pieces of software. First, to actually access Sesame, you will need a Java servlet container. This requires Java itself. Also, to use the database facilities of Sesame, you will need a SQL database. Details of the installation procedure follow.
