Call for Tutorials
We invite proposals for tutorials, to be held on the first day of the conference,
June 23, 2009. All tutorials
will be half-day events. We encourage submitters to contact us before the deadline
if there are any concerns about overlap with other similar tutorial topics.
Proposal content:
The proposals to organize a tutorial should be no more than 2 pages in length and should contain
the following information:
- A brief description of the tutorial, including goals, a detailed outline, justification of why the tutorial
is important, background knowledge required and potential attendees.
- A brief description of why and to whom the tutorial is of interest.
- A brief description of the proposed tutorial format.
- Description of hands-on activities (if any), plug-ins and other software needed for running hands-on activities,
procedures and technical requirements to enable participants to install and run necessary software on their computers.
The software needed for running hands-on activities must be provided by the tutorial speakers.
- The names and contact information (Web page, email address) of the proposed organizers and short
description of their relevant experience.
The tutorial organizers will be responsible for:
- Preparing materials for tutorial participants to download by May 22, 2009.
The Protégé Conference Organizing Committee will be responsible for the following:
- Providing publicity for the tutorial series as a whole on the conference's web page.
- Providing logistics support and a meeting place for the tutorial.
Important dates:
Submission deadline: March 2, 2009
Notification of tutorial acceptance: March 16, 2009
Tutorial materials due: May 22, 2009
Tutorial: June 23, 2009
