We invite proposals for workshops, to be held on the first day of the conference, July 18, 2005. All
workshops will be half-day events. The purpose of the workshops is to provide an informal setting
for participants to discuss technical issues and to exchange research ideas. We expect that most of
the workshops will be interactive events, centering on discussions rather than presentations.
We strongly advise having more than one organizer, bringing different perspectives to the workshop topic. We also
encourage submitters to contact us before the deadline if there is any concern about overlap with other similar
workshop topics. Workshop attendees must pay the conference registration fee.
Proposal content:
The proposals to organize a workshop should be no more than 2 pages in length and should contain the
following information:
- A title and brief technical description of the workshop, specifying the goals and technical issues
that it will focus on.
- A brief discussion of why the topic is of particular interest at this time.
- A brief description of why and to whom the workshop would be of interest.
- A brief description of the proposed workshop format, discussing the mix of events such as
paper presentations, panels, and general discussion.
- The names and contact information (Web page, email address) of the proposed organizers and a
short description of their relevant experience.
The workshop organizers will be responsible for:
- Producing a "Call for Papers/Participation" for their workshop.
- Arranging additional publicity for the workshop, such as distributing the Call to
relevant newsgroups and mailing lists.
- Producing a Web page for the workshop and submitting the URL of the Web page to the
conference organizers no later than May 30, 2005.
- Providing a brief description of the workshop for the conference Web page.
- Selecting the participants and format of the workshop.
